William Deaver Addition, Allison-Deaver House In 1830, William Deaver purchased the circa 1815 Benjamin Allison home and at a point later in time doubled the size of this historic structure.

After viewing the historic circa 1815 Allison-Deaver House, even the most casual observer of the finely crafted home often asks, “Why would Benjamin Allison go to such trouble to build this house and then sell it and move away 15 years later?”

Several theories have been proposed, including a fire that made the house essentially uninhabitable, leading Allison to abandon the house and move on.
