County Prefers New N.C. 215 Route


They’ve said it before, and they are saying it again. Transylvania County commissioners prefer construction of a new route for N.C. 215 between Balsam Grove and Rosman.

Replacement or improvement of the winding, narrow highway has been a priority for the commissioners since the 1990s.

The potential cost, environmental impact and the lack of available funding have slowed progress for years.

Many other projects have been completed in the meantime around the state while N.C. 215 remains on the drawing board.
