Brevard Philharmonic Will Honor Tillotson

Virginia “Ginny” Tillotson will be honored Nov. 13 during the second concert in Brevard Philharmonic’s 35th anniversary season. She was its second conductor, serving 21 years in the position.

Tillotson, who now lives in College Walk, took over the podium from the orchestra’s founder, Jack Parkhurst, in 1981. She became the philharmonic’s longest-running conductor to date.

She will be honored on stage during intermission of the Sunday concert, which features a performance of the “Red Violin.” The concert starts at 3 p.m. at the Porter Center for the Performing Arts on the ca...
