Library Display Turns Attention To Woodwork

For two Brevard residents, woodturning — creating wooden objects on a lathe — is an all-consuming, incredibly rewarding hobby.

Wooden bowls, evidence of their interest and talent, are on display this month at the Transylvania County Library. The display graphically illustrates how a piece of a tree – a limb, trunk, crotch, a log such as the one in the display, is “turned” into a work of art at the hands of expert craftsmen.
