Sharing House Diary Remarkable People

The folks you meet in nonprofits are really something. They come from all walks of life, but they all have one thing in common: they care.

At Sharing House we have around 150 volunteers who give anywhere from one morning or afternoon a week to “how much time you got?” One of the nice things about nonprofits is they’ll let you work as long and as hard as you want.

Nonprofits live and die on the labors of volunteers, the organization’s backbone. Volunteers provide the services. They process goods coming in and they dole them out to people in need. The few paid staffers who coordinat...
