‘Perseverance, Strength And Faith’ On Exhibit

 

Photos such as this one of Brevard’s African American community will be on display at the Transylvania Heritage Museum from February through March.

When the Transylvania Heritage Museum reopens for the 2012 season, the entire first floor display space will showcase the different aspects of the county’s African-American communities for the first half of the season.

The Transylvania Herit-age Coalition, partnering with the Transylvania County Improvement Organization and the African American Community, is creating an exhibit titled “Perseverance, Strength and Faith-The African American Experience in Transylvania County.”

This exhibit will give voice to the African American community of Transylvania County over the past 150 years....
