County Hears Tax Views

 


Transylvania County commissioners heard competing views Monday on raising taxes.

County commissioners recently said after a first look at the proposed 2012-2013 budget with county staff that they have no intention of raising taxes.

During the first look at the budget, County Manager Artie Wilson told commissioners the budget currently faces a $2.5 million shortfall. Wilson mentioned a 3 percent salary increase for county employees and requests for new staff appointments.
