Immigration The Key To Farming’s Future

“Without some kind of reform from Congress, the president, local government, farming is doomed; agriculture is doomed.”

That was part of the message Anthony Owens, owner of Windy Ridge Farms in Henderson County, delivered to nearly 200 people at a forum on immigration reform held at the Transylvania County Library last week.

Owens was one of several speakers that also included law enforcement officials and members of the League of Women Voters, which sponsored the event.
