DuPont Forest Sees More Visitors

 


DuPont State Recreational Forest is seeing a surge in visits this spring. Forest Supervisor David Brown attributes the increase in visitors to two things: unusually warm weather this spring and plentiful publicity following the release of “The Hunger Games,” the blockbuster movie that was filmed partly in Transylvania County.

The movie, which has so far generated more than $300 million at the U.S. box office, has helped spur interest in many of the locations in North Carolina where the movie was filmed. But while many of the filming locations across the state were hungry for additional...
