Betty Ann Fender Duncan


Betty Ann Fender Duncan, 77, of Brevard, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Elizabeth House in Fletcher.

Born in Burnsville, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Myrtle Barnes Fender.

She graduated from Bald Creek High School in Burnsville and Blanton’s Business College in Asheville. She retired from Glen Raven Mills after many years of service. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church, in Pisgah Forest.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John Duncan; a daughter, Denita Duncan Moore and husband, David, of Brevard; a brother, J. B. Fender and wife, Betty Jean, of Burnsville; and grandchildren, Elisabeth, Mary and Johnathan Moore.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Whitfield and Rev. Ricky Ray officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
