Tobacco Proposal Snuffed Out — Transylvania County NC

 


Health Department Director Steve Smith asked county commissioners Monday to consider revising the existing smoking ordinance to prohibit all tobacco use in county buildings, vehicles and county-owned property.

After hearing his concerns, commissioners, citing too much government interference, unanimously voted to keep the current ordinance.

Despite the opposition to his request, Smith vowed the county health department would not let the issue drop and would “be back at some point.”
