Storms Knocks Out Power To 3,000 People – Transylvania County

Heavy storms Tuesday morning and afternoon left more than 4,000 residents in Transylvania, Henderson, and Greenville (S.C.) counties without power.

According to Tammie McGee, of Duke Power, the storm caused a downed tree near Tucker Creek Retail that knocked out power in much of downtown Brevard.

In Transylvania County 3,151 residences and businesses were affected by the outages. Henderson County had 1,193 affected and Greenville had 508.

Duke Power was able to being restoring power to most of the affected areas by Tuesday afternoon.
