Hannah Davis, Ken Voltz To Exhibit Photography – Brevard NC

Hannah Davis, a Brevard High School graduate and Brevard College junior, combines her love of biology with photography.

There will be an opening reception for featured artists Hannah Davis and Ken Voltz at Bluewood Photography gallery, 36 West Jordan St. in Brevard, Friday, Aug. 24, from 5-9 p.m. New works by Davis and Voltz are being shown, including iconic shots of the Southern Appalachians, architectural images and wildlife.

Davis, a rising junior at Brevard College, is currently staff intern with Bluewood Photography. An experienced and passionate photographer, Davis is a biology major in school, minoring in photography. Her strong background in science led to her interest in nature photography. Davis’ particular field of study is the green salamander.

She is vitally interested in the outdoors, and her hobbies include Hiking and Rock Climbing.

Davis has shown her photography at Brevard City Hall; Bluewood Photography, where she sold her first image; and Brevard College, where she has won a student award. She uses Canon’s 1d Mark IIn camera and various “L” series lenses.

Voltz is an award-winning photographer and experienced educator.

Ken Voltz turned this photo into a sepia tone for a different effect.

A member of the Land of Waterfalls Steering Committee, Voltz has shown his work in various galleries in North and South Carolina, and has been published in Smoky Mountain Living and The Blue Ridge Travel Guide.

Along with his passion for photography, Voltz is an avid hiker, kayaker, outdoorsman and chef. As photography workshop coordinator at Bluewood Photography, Voltz develops infield workshops, field trips and other learning experiences for all levels of photographers.

A native of New York state, he resides in Brevard with his wife Kathy.
