Pipapelli Combines Guitar With Bagpipe And Saxopho

Bagpipes may seem like an odd fit for a blues group, but Pipapelli (pronounced Pipe-Uh-Pelly) makes it work. With the aid of a guitar wah-wah pedal, RJ Grady transforms the traditional Celtic instrument into a wholly new experience, both onstage and in the studio. During preparation for Pipapelli’s Oct. 26 show at the Brevard Brewing Co., Grady spoke with Backstage Pass from his home in Lake Toxaway about his intriguing band.
