Biomass Plant Mostly Attacked During Meeting -Brevard Nc


A proposed biomass power plant in the Little River Valley ran into fierce opposition from a standing room-only crowd in the library’s Rogow Room Thursday night.

Many of those in attendance wore blue shirts or pinned blue ribbons to their shirts signifying their involvement in a recently formed group – “People for Clean Mountains” – that opposes the project.

Questions posed to project spokesperson Matthew Ross, with New York company Renewable Developers, after his 45-minute presentation on the project, ranged from “Why here?” to “What do we have to do to stop this?”
