The American Association of University Women (AAUW) honors North Carolina women writers in this month’s display at the Transylvania County Library.

More than 30 writers whose books are featured share a connection to this state. The influence of their sense of place, where they may have experienced deep personal attachment and a feeling of belonging, is revealed in the stories they write. The diverse literature included in the library display reflects each author’s identification with place — whether urban, rural, recent or past — that has given meaning to their lives and work.
