Kitchen Case Heads To N.C. Court Of Appeals – Brevard NC

A petition of writ assertiari, a filing asking the appellate court to permit review of a trial court order that is not otherwise immediately appealable, usually because the time for appeal has passed or has not yet arrived, has been filed by attorneys representing Michael Kitchen.

Kitchen, along with two women, was arrested May 14, 2011 following a fire while Brevard Police Department officers were inside the residence. One of the women, Natasha Sinclair, was later charged with intentionally starting the fire. She faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree arson....
