Rains Damage Forest Roads - Brevard NC

 


As heavy rains have washed out several roads around Transylvania County in prior weeks, U.S. Forest Service roads can also be vulnerable to flooding and travellers are urged to use caution when driving in the national forest.

There have not been any reports of vehicle incidents in the Pisgah National Forest since the flooding began, but two roads in the Pisgah Ranger District, Upper Cover Creek Road and Pilot Mountain Road, have been closed because of the flooding.

Last month there were two accidents involving camp vans that occurred in less than a week.
