Mountain Roots Pottery Camp To Host Another Session For Children – Brevard NC

Not all children have been bored during this rainy, soggy summer. Last week, 24 campers from seven states, as well as, Japan, Germany and the U.S. Virgin Islands came together to play in the clay.

Mountain Roots hosted its first week of pottery camp at the Transylvania Community Arts Center. Instructors Ali Lien and Kim Skeen were impressed with the creativity and open- mindedness of campers at both sessions. Campers learned the basics of various methods of working with clay, including pinch, coil, slab, and sculpture. The older campers in the afternoon session got to give the potters whee...
