Legislation deemed by its opponents as one of the most restrictive voting laws passed by any state in recent years awaits the signature of Gov. Pat McCrory before becoming law.
Meanwhile, the law’s supporters say it will stop voter fraud.
Unless vetoed by the Republican governor, the bill would become law 30 days after it passed in a 73-41 vote in the GOP-led N. C. House. Previously, the N.C. Senate approved the measure.
