Locals Going To Fight Wildfires - Brevard NC

With wildfires raging in the Western United States, the U.S. Forest Service has called on a crew of 20 North carolina-based firefighters to help battle a blaze in northern California.

Nineteen of the 20 firefighters are based in western North Carolina, with five of those hailing from the Pisgah Ranger District in Transylvania County.

They are part of what is called a Type 2 Initial Attack Crew, which will work to combat the fire on the ground.
