Rotary Club Of Brevard

Lee Bradley, a program supervisor for the Guardian ad Litem Program, will address the Rotary Club of Brevard at its noon meeting Aug. 20.

This week’s meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express, which is located at 2228 Asheville Highway in Brevard.

Bradley works with Guardian ad Litem programs in both Transylvania and Polk counties. Prior to joining the Guardian ad Litem program, he served as a juvenile court counselor with the Division of Juvenile Justice in the 29th district for 14 years.

A resident of Polk County, Bradley serves on the State Employee Credit Union Advisory Board in Hendersonville as well as the Polk County Planning Board.

He earned a degree in criminal justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Gem & Mineral Society

The Henderson County Gem & Mineral Society program for Aug. 19 will include a video for the upcoming annual Gem & Mineral Spectacular for Labor Day weekend.

Also, Tom Lapp will present a brief program on his and Diane’s recent trip to the William Holland Lapidary School in Young Harris, Ga.

He will not only speak of their experience there, but will bring in samples of their finished items for members and guests to see.

The Henderson County Gem & Mineral Society meets the third Monday of each month at the Salvation Army conference room located on King and Fourth Ave.

Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in minerals and gems or any relative activities.
