Rodney Cleaven Blackwell


Rodney Cleaven Blackwell, 57, of Brevard, died Tuesday Aug. 20, 2013.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. to late Cleaven and Frances Elizabeth Ferguson Blackwell.

He was an avid member of Enon Baptist Tabernacle, of Philadephia, where he was a choir member and served on the usher board.

He was a member of the Connie Mack Recreation Center Team Council in Philadelphia and also worked as a deliveryman for the Philadelphia Daily News.

Survivors include his sisters, Denise Evans and husband, Terry, of Seattle, Wash., Saundra Lee McGeathy, of Philadelphia, and brother, Bruce C. Blackwell, of Brevard; eight nieces and nephews, and four great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Transylvania County Rescue Squad on Fisher Road from 12 -2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Transylvania County Rescue Squad in the name of Rodney Blackwell.
