Commissioners Reject Fines For Barking Dogs -Brevard NC

County commissioners Monday voted unanimously to remove a proposed barking dog ordinance after hearing from six county residents Monday who voiced their concerns about the cost of fines.
The ordinance had called for giving animal control officers the ability to levy fines up to $100 for each ordinance violation.
County Manager Artie Wilson recommended the barking dog provision be removed from the revised animal control ordinance.
“After listening to citizens, after discussing individually with commissioners, I recommend the (barking dog) section of the ordinance be removed,” he said....
