Best Of The South


A lot of talented artists have lived in Brevard, from Moms Mabley to Michael Guggino and Woody Platt of Steep Canyon Rangers. Most recently, former Brevard High School teacher Terry Roberts has been honored for his literary prowess.

Roberts is the 2012 recipient of the Willie Morris Award for Southern Fiction. The award is given annually to an author whose work is set in the South. Originality, setting, character development and the quality of prose are all considered in selecting the winner.
