Shutdown Hurts TVS, Other Local Businesses - Brevard NC

Sitting at a table in her office Thursday, surrounded by notepads, a calculator and a cup of coffee, it became clear that Nancy Stricker was worried. As the CEO of Transylvania Vocational Services (TVS), one of Transylvania County’s largest employers, she’d seen the impact of the shutdown of the federal government firsthand.

Stricker had just returned from a meeting with her employees, where she told them what she knew and what it meant for the company’s 116 employees.
