Brevard Receives Large Financial Donation

Brevard City Council officially accepted a significant financial gift Monday from two local residents that is estimated to be about $370,000.

Frank Patton Jr. and his wife, Donna, have donated 2,000 shares of Sherwin Williams stock they hope the city will use to buy and maintain green spaces and public areas.

This includes city parks, bike and hike trails, and other similar recreation areas.

The city cannot hold stock shares in its investment portfolio. An account is being opened with Ameriprise Financial, where the stock will be converted to cash.
