Twilight Tour Will Be A 'Winter Wonderland' - Brevard NC
Last updated 12/6/2013 at 5:06am
This year’s holiday festivities will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., starting immediately after the annual Christmas parade, which begins at 3 p.m. The theme of the 2013 parade and Twilight Tour will be Winter Wonderland.
Highlights of the event will include live entertainment at the gazebo, a Winter Roller Skating Rink, a Snow Avalanche Rock Climbing Wall, a Winter Snowfall area, horse-drawn carriage rides and luminaries decorating the streets of downtown Brevard.
The annual tree lighting ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the courthouse lawn, followed by the second annual All-Community Sing, which will be led by the Rosman middle and high school choruses.
There will be two different carriage routes available. Two carriages will take riders on a short ride downtown, while a third carriage will take people to Silvermont, where there will be an open house, entertainment, a bake shop and gift shop, and more.
As always, the downtown merchants will be opening their doors to welcome in holiday shoppers with specials, refreshments and entertainment. A complete list of merchant offerings will be showcased in the Monday, Dec. 2, edition of The Transylvania Times.
“Twilight Tour is always a magical evening,” said Trapp. “Not only is this a great time to get an early start on your holiday shopping, but it’s also a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.”
Trapp said there are still a couple of spaces open for local groups to perform at the gazebo. And as always, the Heart of Brevard invites community members to volunteer to help with set up or manning an element.
Anyone interested in performing at the gazebo or volunteering for the event should contact Trapp through the Heart of Brevard.
