Ruth Haynie Feaster

Ruth Hanie Feaster, 92, of Brevard, died Nov. 26, 2013, in Wyomissing, Pa., where she had resided since May 2012.

Born in Barnard, N.C, she was the daughter of the late Daniel T. and Lela (Phipps) Haynie. Her husband, Marshall M. Feaster Jr. died Oct. 24, 1993. She was predeceased by three sisters.

She grew up in Asheville and graduated from Western Carolina University in 1942. During her career she worked at Ecusta Corporation, Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church, and at Brevard Federal Savings and Loan.

During retirement she lived at Lake Toxaway, where she enjoyed boating with her friends and family.

She is survived by two sons, Marshall M. Feaster III, M.D., and his wife, Jane, of Wyomissing; and Samuel H. Feaster M.D., and his wife, Christy, of Knoxville, Tenn., six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church or to the Lake Toxaway United Methodist Church.
