The Transylvania Times -

Ill-Mannered Towards Visitors

My family, son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren were visiting from Denver. The Tuesday before Thanksgiving was an incredibly rainy day, but we had such fun showing them downtown Brevard. We went to a popular ice cream parlor for lunch. There, thanks to one local woman, the fun ended. She made rude and nasty comments about our wet coats (everyone around had wet coats) and her further comment, quote that “she would be so glad when all of these tourists left, and that wouldn’t happen until January.”

She is the first ill-mannered person I have encountered in our wonderful town. I’m sorry it happened in front of my visiting family.

I certainly hope the spirit of the season finds her!
