Popular Trail Receiving Makeover - Brevard NC

Lower Black Mountain Trail, located adjacent to the parking lot just before the Pisgah Forest ranger station, is getting a makeover, and the public is being asked to lend a hand.

Due to record rainfall last year, high traffic, and direct sediment deposit into waterways, the Forest Service has approved a series of volunteer work days starting on Thursday.

Woody Keen has coordinated much of the work to be done, and has served for many years as a trail design consultant, as well as previously owning a trail construction company, Trail Dynamics.
