What movie is currently being shot in DuPont State Recreational Forest?

Answer: Scenes from the MGM feature "Max" are being shot in the forest.

Starring Josh Wiggins (Hellion, Mud), Thomas Haden Church (Sideways, Spider-Man 3), Jay Hernandez (Friday Night Lights, Crazy/Beautiful, the upcoming TV series Gang Related), and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls, Parenthood), the film is the story of a dog that helped soldiers in Afghanistan and upon his return to the U.S. is adapted by his handler's family after suffering a traumatic experience. The production is written and will be directed by Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans, screenwriter for Now You See Me and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time).

Principle photography is scheduled to run to mid-July with overall production lasting a little more than 150 days in the state. The production is basing in the Charlotte region, where the majority of filming will also take place including in the towns and areas surrounding Kings Mountain, Lincolnton and Gastonia. Additionally, the feature will be shooting for about a week in and around Brevard and Asheville and may also travel to the parts of the Piedmont Triad Region.
