Summer Program Teaches, Entertains Youth – Brevard NC

The halls of the Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club are echoing with the delighted cheers of hundreds of children these days. They're home from school for the summer, but they're still learning while they play.

It's the club's annual Summer Program, in which some 175 youngsters from 6 to 16 pour into the Gallimore Road clubhouse daily. There are eight weeks of day-long activities centered on learning life skills while having a good time. The program is the seasonal supplement to the club's after-school programs held the rest of the year.
