Brevard Family Practice Welcomes New Doctor - Brevard NC

Transylvania Regional Hospital welcomes a new physician-Elizabeth York, M.D.-to Brevard Family Practice.

York joins Hal Royer, M.D., Denise Stretcher, M.D., Tim Shea, M.D., and Steven Saldutti, PA-C, at the Brevard Family Practice medical office, which is located on the Transylvania Regional Hospital campus.

"We are pleased to have Dr. York join us in our medical practice in Brevard," Shea said. "She is a very experienced physician with many years of providing primary care to patients in a rural community."

York is board certified in family medicine.

She practiced medicine for nearly 30 years in eastern North Carolina before relocating to Transylvania County this summer.

"As a family medicine doctor, I treat both adults and children," York said. "I help my patients stay well and manage any chronic conditions before they become severe. My goal is to maintain and improve each patient's health to enhance their quality of life.

After receiving her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., York earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia.

She completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.

"Access to primary care is essential to the health and well-being of our patients," said Cathy Landis, president of Transylvania Regional Hospital.

"Ensuring the availability of primary physician care for our community is a central part of our mission," she said.
