Fee Imposed On Landowners, Forest Service Projects - Brevard NC

 


A recent change in state legislation means landowners will now have to pay a fee for partnering with the N.C. Forest Service on land management projects, but local officials say the positives of creating a woodland management plan will still outweigh any out-of-pocket expenditure.

In August, the N.C. Board of Agriculture, which oversees the N.C. Forest Service, approved fees for woodland management plans at the direction of the General Assembly.

In the past, woodland management plans, more commonly known as forest management plans, were free.
