Do we want to pay taxes to support schools which can do as they please? Or do we want accountability for public education dollars?

As a retired teacher, I cannot believe that our legislature voted to give away tax dollars to private schools. These schools, of which 70 percent are religious, have no standards to meet. According to the North Carolina Court of Appeals, there are no requirements for teachers and principals to be certified and no accountability for curriculum. These schools can select and de-select students.
