Riding Along The Beautiful Alcan Highway

The call came unexpectedly.

"Judith, will you ride with me when I deliver my son-in-law's car to him in Anchorage?"

I knew my friend and sometimes travel companion Pinkie was going to make the trip with another friend, but at almost the last minute her friend couldn't go. It was an opportunity not to be missed.

I flew to Seattle and after a side trip to Vancouver Island, off we went. By nightfall, we had crossed into Canada and were now on the famous Alcan Highway. Say it out loud. Doesn't it have an adventuresome ring to it?
