Offroad Research Group (ORG) has announced plans to relocate to Transylvania County, according to a press release from The Transylvania Partnership for Economic Development (TPED).

ORG, a small business currently located in Pembroke, Va., selected the community based on the area’s unique blend of quality of life, outdoor amenities, and proximity to an existing network of manufacturers and suppliers, according to the press release. ORG specializes in custom vehicle builds, and the development of outdoor gear specifically tailored to mountain Biking, Kayaking, hunting, Fly Fishing and other recreational sports.

After a formal search for a new location, the company selected a 10,000-square-foot facility located on N.C. 280 near the county line.

The company plans to be operational by July. “We are incredibly excited Offroad Research Group plans to join Transylvania County’s growing outdoor gear manufacturing cluster,” said TPED Chairman Andy VonCanon. “We look forward to welcoming this business to the community.”

“Our community has long been a destination for outdoor enthusiasts, especially those that are passionate about cycling, Hiking and fishing,” he said.

“On behalf of the community we look forward to a great future for this small business.”

The introduction of new lines of outdoor gear has led to growing popularity in the company, the release said. The business’s relocation to Transylvania County will create three to four new job opportunities for the community.
