Hit-And- Run Case Settled -Brevard NC


Scott McCombs received a suspended sentence last week in Transylvania County Superior Court after pleading guilty to a felony hit and run charge and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in connection with a Dec. 26, 2012, incident that left 58-year-old Jerry Morgan dead.

McCombs also pleaded guilty to having no operator’s license. The charges were consolidated. He received a suspended sentence of a minimum 17 months and a maximum 30 months.

He was placed on supervised probation for 24-months. McCombs must also serve 30 days active jail time. McCombs was leaving the Sav-Mor grocery store...
