Rosman FFA Will Host Annual Auction Saturday – Rosman NC

The Rosman High School chapter of Future Farmers of America is hosting its third annual chicken and farm auction Saturday.

Anyone may bring items to sell at the auction. All healthy poultry are welcome – chickens, hens, roosters, chicks, quail, ducks, turkey, etc. Poultry-related items are also welcome, including incubators, hatching eggs, feeders, waterers and more. FFA also accepts any other farm-related items, such as weed trimmers, mowers, leaf blowers, hand tools, cattle items, etc.

The Rosman FFA Chapter will be collecting a 10 percent seller’s fee and a 10 percent buyer’s fee. They will have a large number of door prizes, including gift certificates good at local businesses, chicken feed, honey, plants, hanging baskets and more.

Auction proceeds help local students to attend leadership conferences and competitions at the regional, state, and national level. These students work very hard and bring prizes and recognition back to Transylvania County in a variety of FFA-sponsored and other events in poultry and dairy farming, public speaking, and horticulture.

This year’s auction will be held at Rosman High School. Registration for sellers at the auction will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Preview of all auction items will begin at 9 a.m., and the auction is slated to begin around 10 a.m.
