Lady Blue Devil senior Dory Walrath became the latest signee to play soccer for the Tornados of Brevard College.

She signed a letter of intent recently, surrounded by family, friends, teammates and coaches.

The choice of Brevard College was a no-brainer for the speedy senior.

"It offered the best fit for my family and me," Walrath said. "The people there are really great and it's a great opportunity."

Walrath, who has six goals on the year, is undecided about a major.

She is likely to start on the Tornados' junior varisty team as a freshman, but looks to move up quickly.

Head coach Scott Russell believes she will make an impact early, as he is able to use Walrath in just about any position on the field, from offense to defense.

"Dory has been our MVP several games this year," Russell said. "She always leaves 100 percent on the field."

Russell said he first met Walrath while he was coaching against her from another school.

"She was a terror to coach against, even at middle school," Russell said. "It's appropriate that she play at the next level."
