Tigers Get Important League Victory At Robbinsville – Rosman NC


The Rosman varsity baseball team scored runs in five of seven innings to beat Robbinsville 8-3 Tuesday in a key away Smoky Mountain Conference game.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and administered the coup de grace with a three-run fourth to go ahead 6-1.

Josh Rice opened the first with a walk, and then took the next two bases on passed balls. Cam Dotson followed with a walk, and later stole second, allowing Rice to steal home on the same play.

Dotson took third on a ground-out and later scored on a passed ball for a 2-0 Tiger lead.

In the fourth, Dotson led off with a double, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Tyler Petit.

Tanner Galloway singled, allowing Petit to score on the play.

Galloway moved to third on an error, and then scored on a single by Aaron Newman.

Harper Reese led the Tigers at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance, driving in one and scoring one run. Reese also took the win, pitching five innings and striking out nine, while allowing one unearned run.

Dotson was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Newman was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
