City of Brevard

Proposed Amendments to Unified Development Ordinance

The Brevard City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 15, 2015. The hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building located at 95 West Main Street to consider the following:

Proposed text amendments to the following section(s) of Brevard City Code, Unified Development Ordinance:

Establish Section 12.11.A.1 to reduce the separation requirement between new ground signs within planned development districts, group developments, institutional campuses, and other similar projects.

The public is invited to attend this public hearing and make comment, either in favor of or in opposition to the proposed text amendments. The proposed text amendments are available for review and are on file in the Brevard Planning Department and available for public inspection during normal hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. For additional information you may call the City Planning Department at (828) 885-5630.

Public Hearing on Proposed Budget

Notice is hereby given that a proposed budget has been submitted to the Brevard ABC Board, Brevard City Council, and the North Carolina ABC Commission for FY2015-2016 ensuing operations. Detailed information regarding this budget is now on file in the General Manager’s office at the downtown store for public review during normal business hours. The Brevard ABC Board will hold a public hearing on June 24th to consider this proposed budget at which time the public is free to voice their concerns or comments regarding this budget.

SECOND GENERAL NOTICE OF TAX FORECLOSURE SALE

Under and by virtue of a Judgment of the Presiding District Court Judge for Transylvania County, North Carolina, made and entered in the action entitled “County of Transylvania vs. James Bros. Construction Corp., a/k/a James Brothers Construction Corp. and a/k/a James Brothers Construction, Inc.” the undersigned Commissioner will, on the 22ND day of JUNE, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., offer for sale and sell for cash, to the last and highest bidder at public auction, the real property described in the attached Exhibit “A” incorporated herein by reference. The property lies within Transylvania County, North Carolina, and is more particularly described in Exhibit “A” PIN: 8572-98-6204-000 (Unit 23, Lot 13 Dudisdi Court), attached hereto. The sale will be held on the Transylvania County Courthouse steps, 7 E. Main Street, Brevard, North Carolina.

The sale will be made subject to all outstanding City and County taxes and all superior restrictions of record and local improvement assessments against the above-described property not included in the Judgment in the above-entitled cause. All junior liens will be extinguished upon sale.

The property, together with all buildings, fixtures and improvements thereon, is being sold “as is, where is” without warranty.

The terms of sale are that the real property described in Exhibit “A” will be sold for cash to the highest bidder and that the undersigned will require the successful bidder at the sale to immediately deposit cash or a certified check in the amount of five (5%) percent of the last bid or $750.00, whichever is greater. Any successful bidder shall be required to tender the full balance purchase price so bid in cash or certified check at the time the Commissioner tenders the bidder a Deed for the property, or attempts tender of such Deed. Should the successful bidder fail to pay the full balance of the purchase price bid, the bidder shall remain liable for said bid. The Transylvania County Tax Collector may make a credit bid.

This sale will remain open for ten (10) days, as by law required, at which time an upset bid may be made with the Clerk of Court for Transylvania County, North Carolina. The Notice may be withdrawn at any time until the conclusion of the sale.
