Ecusta Trail Gets Backing, Still Faces Obstacles - Brevard NC

After nearly five years since it became a nonprofit, the Friends of Ecusta Trail has witnessed some momentum in its favor the past few months but still faces obstacles.

The nonprofit supports the creation of the Ecusta Trail, a proposed rail-to-trail conversion of the roughly 19-mile stretch of currently unused rail line between Brevard and Hendersonville. Eight of the nearly 19 miles lie within Transylvania County.

On March 2, Brevard City Council unanimously backed the Ecusta Trail in a resolution.
