Pesky Caterpillars Become Butterflies – Brevard NC

 


Summer, as we all know, is full of bugs. There are the usual June bugs bungling into the house in the evening, the occasional mosquito or cricket, the chorus of katydids at night that we get in August, and, of course, caterpillars. We don’t tend to notice the caterpillars, though, unless they happen to be chowing down on something dear to us. If we find a tomato horn worm on our tomatoes or cabbage loopers in our broccoli we may be tempted to declare that “the only good caterpillar is a dead caterpillar,” but we would be mistaken.
