Brevard Hosts Andrews In Craig Pritchett's Debut – Brevard NC

Craig Pritchett

After a winless 2014 campaign, new Blue Devil head coach Craig Pritchett is looking for his team to get out of the gates fast with a win this Friday against the Andrews Wildcats.

Andrews is coming off a 3-9 season and Pritchett said the two teams have a lot in common.

"They've got young players playing. They've got a couple of kids that are nicked up. Both teams are looking to find success early in the season so it should be a good matchup," Pritchett said.

Brevard is coming off a scrimmage against Hendersonville last Friday in which the offense and defense fired on all cylinders early. Pritchett said he's looking for the team to build off that experience.

"With the scrimmage we had some good things early. I'm looking forward to the players responding better to adversity. Also just looking for their techniques to be a little more sound than they were," he said.

Friday night will be the first official game for Pritchett as Blue Devil head coach. Since 2005, Brevard has had five different coaches at the helm. Pritchett inherits a team thirsty for success, with the last winning season coming in 2007.

Pritchett said the message to his players entering Week One was simple: find a way to win.

"We have to find success. We have to find a way to win the football game. We set some goals this week and I want to see us follow through on those and hopefully come out on top," Pritchett said.
