State: Hatchery Trout Don't Have Disease - Brevard NC

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission resumed stocking hatchery supported trout waters last week after receiving confirmation that trout from the Bobby N. Setzer State Fish Hatchery in Transylvania County and Armstrong State Fish Hatchery in Marion County tested negative for whirling disease, a disorder affecting trout.

Whirling disease affects fish in the trout and salmon family.
