Animal Shelter Fines Could Have Been Much Greater-Brevard NC


The total amount of the fines Transylvania County faces for unauthorized euthanasias performed at the animal shelter could have been more than $1 million had county staff not begun to correct the problems.

Instead, the state fined the county $10,150 for 205 cases of animal euthanasia performed by staff members who were not certified between Sept. 1, 2014 to July 21, 2015
