Local Donations Accepted To Help South Carolina Flooding Victims-Brevard NC

Transylvania County residents have come together to help out people in Columbia, S.C., recovering from the heavy rains and flooding that left many without water and electricity.

Michael Collins, with the Bread of Life, has just returned from Columbia, where he was delivering the first donation and said that the water levels have not receded yet, and that "the worst has yet to come."

Donation centers have been set up around the county, and they are taking food, pet food, bottled water, and other forms of drinkable water and clothing. The drop-offs will go on for two or three weeks.

The following are a list of locations:

• Appalachian Coffee on the Brevard College campus off E. French Broad St.;

• Bread of Life, 248 S. Caldwell St., Brevard;

•The Brevard College bookstore, located behind the school library; and

• Anchor Baptist Church, 3232 New Hendersonville Highway. The church has requested that donations be left under the carports after hours.
