City Trying To Fix Ongoing Sewer Problems - Brevard NC

 


The recent spillage of more than a million gallons of sewage in Brevard is nothing new, state and local officials are saying.

State Department of Environmental Quality and Brevard city officials were not surprised when a recent storm flushed through the city’s storm drainage system, backing up into the sewage system, causing a drainage of raw sewage from two separate sewer pump stations.

City officials announced the drainage of 704,520 gallons of sewage from the Neely Road site along with 326,152 gallons of sewage being discharged from the Gallimore Road sewer pump, which both occurred...
